1. Overview
Brain Unrot (“the App”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes, how it is used, and your choices. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Data We Process
- App Blocking Configuration: The apps and categories you choose to block are stored locally on your device using Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls framework.
- Step Count: The App reads your step count from Apple's HealthKit at runtime to calculate your unlock balance. This data is used locally only and is never stored persistently or transmitted anywhere.
The App does not collect your name, email address, or other direct identifiers. You do not need to create an account to use the App.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
- On Your Device: All app blocking configuration is stored locally on your device. We do not operate any servers that receive or store your personal data.
4. Screen Time & FamilyControls
The App uses Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls framework to block selected apps. This functionality is provided entirely by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store any data from this framework.
5. HealthKit
The App requests read-only access to your step count via Apple's HealthKit. Step data is read at runtime to calculate your unlock balance and is never written back to HealthKit, stored persistently, or shared with any third party. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
6. No Third-Party Analytics or Advertising SDKs
The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or embedded trackers. The App does not use third-party crash reporting SDKs.
7. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data with any third parties.
8. Your Choices and Controls
- Manage Blocked Apps: You can add or remove blocked apps at any time within the App.
- HealthKit Access: You can revoke step count access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Brain Unrot.
- Delete All Data: Deleting the App from your device removes all locally stored blocking configuration.
9. Data Retention
Your data remains on your device until you delete it within the App, delete the App, or reset your device. We do not retain any copies of your data on external servers.
10. Security
We rely on Apple's platform security for local data storage. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age required by your local law, please use the App only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the App or on our website, with the “Last Updated” date adjusted accordingly.
